1.Description

Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil) is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). Thefoil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimeslaminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplantedtin foil in the mid 20th century.

Annual production of aluminium foil was approximately 800,000 tonnes (880,000 tons) in Europe and 600,000 tonnes (660,000 tons) in the U.S. in 2003. Approximately 75% of aluminium foil is used for packaging offoods, cosmetics, and chemical products, and 25% used for industrial applications (e.g. thermal insulation, cables and electronics).

In North America, aluminium foil is known as aluminum foil. It was popularized by Reynolds Metals, the leading manufacturer in North America. In the United Kingdom and United States it is, informally, widely called tin foil, for historical reasons (similar to how aluminum cans are often still called "tin cans").Metallised films are sometimes mistaken for aluminium foil, but are actually polymer films coated with a thin layer of aluminium. In Australia, aluminium foil is widely called alfoil.

Q:I'm making a model and don't know whether to use foil or paint.
The simple blanket, all in one piece, of a red heart worsted weight type yarn called for 8 8-oz skeinsThat was knitted on 10 needlesThere were only 6 of the color I wanted, so that is what I bought thinking I could use some other color for the border? Anyway, my granddaughter wanted the yarn for some other project she had in mind and I didn't do itMost of the blankets I do require about 6 pounds of yarn to do a blanket the size you are talking about, but I use worsted weight rather than the bulkyGo with Hairbender's suggestions.
Q:i thought it was just barium and calcium but apparently i was wronghow did you figure it out? i thought that all i would have to do is see which elements are in group 2 and that gives you the number of valence electrons so what did i do wrong?1 aluminum2 barium3 cobalt4 lithium5 bromine6 helium7 krypton8 calcium9hydrogen
Q:just wanna know
The glass tubes with a cork are generally the most airtight Aluminum/metal tubes are iffy
Q:I have a 1 year old pitbull whot eats a normal healthy diet, I feed her (sometimes) 3 times a day and she always has water, but I don't understand why that when no ones home she'll go around sniffing/looking for anything that is or looks like tin foil/aluminium foilShes normal any other time but why the tin foil!?!?!?!?!
there's no scientific answer for that question but here's my experience with my dogs[4 cocker spaniels ] my dog bon bon eats seeds any kind of bones, wood, plastic feathersprincess eats grass no dry food, only real meatcapitan eats metal, oranges tomatoes, wood, plastic, bones dirt , meat dry food buffy eats anything you can think of metal bones fabric etetcthis does not mean that it's healthy but that's what they like to do and they are healthy and normal dogs i tried to keep them away from that but it was impossible so now i just let them be and a pitbull has very strong teeth that they need to strenghten them good luck
Q:If I put aluminum foil on all of my windows, do you think I can become The Chosen One?
If you're thinking of putting foil on all your windows, you probably already areEither that or you were a pan of Jiffy Pop in a past life.

Q:I have to make a clay project of a Goliath Bird-Eating spider for schoolI'm really good at this stuff (like making things out of clay) and I have a big imaginationThe problem is that they are really hairy on their legs and I can't find anything to put on my sculpture to make it look hairy(P.S It has to be able to stick to the sculpture because it stands up and i can't have it falling off for the art show.)
Use crepe hair, which you can get in a costume shop or craft placeIt's inexpensive stuff that actors use when they suddenly need a mustache for a role, and don't have time to grow a real oneFor a sculpture (rather than a face) you could create a hair patch by putting several coats of latex down over aluminum foil and then implanting crepe hair into it while it's still wet(If you want it stretchy, use a layer of pantyhose on the foil.) You then pull it free of the foil and you have a 'hairy patch' that you can cut into whatever length and size you need and applyIf you are afraid of it falling apart, you can put strips of gauze bandage instead of pantyhose into the first coat of latex.
Q:I have a molle 3 day assault pack and a sog seal pup elite what else should I have in there
The hardest and most expensive part of fixing the gas heater is the flueBut it is not extravagantTo raise it off the floor is no big dealYou can build a platform or purchase one from a supply house already pre-madeI don't understand why copper is not allowed, unless it is from an iron pipe manifold that the gas is supplied through and there could be a requirement for them to use a flexible connectorStill not a big deal nor expenseWeigh that against the cost of running a new electric outlet for an electric heaterAs mentioned, you may want to consider taking a credit from the seller and purchase a tankless heaterGas or ElectricIt will be less energy used down the roadGood luck
Q:The one I have is one of the long aluminum flashlightsI'm trying to replace the bulb, but the round thing underneath is like rusted tight, and I can't get it offDoes it unscrew or pop off?
I couldn't find the info you need, but I will suggest that if it's anything like my MagLite it has a ring on the very outside edge that turns counterclockwise to get access to the inside of the bulb assemblyIt secures the lens, and I am not sure if you can get the bulb from thereThe only other thing is to take the light apart enough to get that rusty part out and keep soaking it with WD-40 or some other penetrant until you can unscrew the endDon't be in a hurry, let the penetrant work.
Q:What are 7 ways to use AluminumPLease i need tyhs for my project!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
poop a brick lol man lol.
