- Copper does conduct slightly better than aluminum, but aluminum corrodes over time and the oxidized surface has very high resistance. Copper also oxidizes but is not as high a resistance. The high resistance, when in contact with another conductor, like a junction inside a box, will create heat. Those high resistance junctions create so much heat that over time a fire hazard develops. Hence, National Electrical Code disallowed the use of aluminum for safety reasons.

- If you can, try and get ceramic plates, they are sooooooo much better than titanium or aluminum because they don't cause as much damage to your hair. But, if you have to choose between titanium or aluminum, go with titanium. The only thing aluminum will do for your hair is fry it and give it split ends. Please don't waste your money on a straightener with alumium plates, :)
- Q:I bought a house that is older with aluminum windows, and the last owner did not seem to clean them for quite some time. The aluminum frames are a silvery milky white color and my neighbors that have the same windows look like chrome. I have brushed these windows with scrub brushes and green scouring pads even aluminum wheel cleaner, now my frame is a clean milky grey color, it just isnt polished like my neighbor has it, his is like chrome. I have tried silver polishes and this doesn't remove the grey film either - i need something stronger. Can anyone help???

- i dont think any foods will contain substantial quantities of aluminium as its not a metal commonly found in bioinorganic chemistry. Aluminium salts could potentially be found in water, also using aluminium pans could potentially lead to aluminium consumption. hope this helps
- Q:How exactly can you tell (just by looking) that the nipple used to tighten a spoke is brass and not aluminum? I know some are silver - not sure if they are painted silver or what. But without scraping or causing any damage to the nipple, how would one know for sure if they have no experience between the two.p.s. I don't know how heavy or light either is, so if that is one way to tel, it's not a good way for me.

- Just a little personal story here. I recently bought a new old stock Carbon Giant TCR Limited at a great price, did some wheel upgrades and the like then took it out for a ride. The difference between that bike and my Colnago Aluminum Dream (still have it) was amazing. The whole ride quality, smoothness and climbing ability of the CF bike was supierior to that of the Colnago. Or was it just the novelty of the newness? Sure the two have different geometries and gearing but I feel so much more comfortable on the CF giant for long (over 50 mile) rides then the Al. Colnago. Test ride them both, you'll see.
- Q:ok me and my father are trying to make thermite. we have the iron oxide but the aluminum we only have paste and i was wondering would it work the same as if we had the powder.and if it is differnt will it work for the thermite and what will it take to light it.
- The aluminum paste may or may not work. It depends on what the solvent is that the aluminum is dissolved in. Why not get a block of aluminum and a grinder, and make your own aluminum dust?

- Depends what you mean by site. A full service junkyard will pay by the pound for most kinds of metal, including washers dryers and stoves but you would need a lot of them to make it worthwhile at 60 cents a pound or so
